TRUE LOVE
I know, I know, sounds sappy right? And while my charming and oh so good looking DH did bring me some Chicken Noodle Soup and hot tea laced with Sudafed and Mucinex its a romantic comedy I'm talking about for the sake of THIS list! :)
Paper Heart: Charlyne Yi is such a cutie patootee smarty pants but she's not sure that True Love exists. I downloaded it instantly from Netflix
Here's a trailer from YouTube:
I am still DYING over half of the things they said, but Charlyne and her Dad's puppets are even better than anything you see in this trailer... even better than the line from that little girl that says "A perfect date is you gotta take somebody to Applebee's and get 'em hot wings!" and that's pretty darn funny if you're asking me! Check it:
Dude I'm STILL confused by Inception... now this is where the Sudafed/Mucinex mix did me in... I'm still confused/convinced enough that last night while fighting off insomnia I thought I heard the doorbell ring and then I reminded myself that I was half asleep which made me think "Maybe that was the kick..." . If you haven't seen it let's just leave it at "it was convincing" and get some soon! I don't like action films, but I love Leo (that is the second time mentioning the word Leo in one post, huh...) but it was a film with good effects, an interesting *new* type of story line with something for everyone.
Ok, last movie... you know when you're sick you have to see movies, right? Well, we actually went out for this one "Tangled"... we were amused... very amused, but Alexia was enthralled. I believe she has seen it somewhere around 5 times. I was happy to see her cracking up... I mean totally cry-laughing at the little chameleon's antics. She giggles and giggles and giggles and then tries to tell me why its so funny and then giggles some more. That's medicine that's better than the Sudafed/Mucinex combo any day!
I sketched a bunch and took pictures with my photobooth:
But I have to say that I have saved the absolute, hands down, no questions BEST for LAST and yes this is a lot of reading, but get some tea and come back, cuz its worth it:
The #1 thing that had me cry/laughing/cry/laughing and crying from laughing some more was a blog that was shared with me like this: "What are you doing, right now? Never mind, it doesn't matter that will have to wait, whatever it is. Go immediately to: Hyperbole and A Half" Luckily this email was from my IRL good good friend whom I know has only the best of intentions and not some freak pants in Nigeria... So, of course being the obedient friend that I am I click the link (p.s. I have to SAVE getting the URL for the link until I am ALL DONE writing this post or else I will get caught in Allie-land and may not resurface until Wednesday at the earliest and that's just irresponsible).
So, I see some silly pictures and then minimize the screen "for later" and go back to making dinner for The People. She then called and asked "Did you read it? What did you think?" I tried to explain that I was trying to make dinner for the poor starving People of Herrmannville which made my friend make that sound at me like she's going to let me off the hook, but totally does NOT approve of my choice. She then says something to the affect of, "Ok, well when you come to your senses and finally read the MOST Entertaining THING on the Internet don't miss "Best Of" about dog and helper dog because you can totally relate... into tears! the Laughing kind!"
Luckily it took me a day or two to come to my senses because that means I got to read all of every "Best Of" and a few more when I most needed them. And DUUUUUUUUDE I needed them... for reals... At first I was so sick that the people were totally leaving me alone. They had no idea what I was up to and I was laughing OUT loud and not the lol kind... I mean the kind that makes this happen:
People#3: Dad, Mommy's crying you should go help her
People#2: You go help her (I am married to People#2 - this is not a child *ahem*)
People#3: You go help her
People#2: You go help her
People#3: You go help her
People#2: You go help her
People#3: You go help her
People#2: You go help her
People#3: Fine!
People#3 walks down the hall, in her best concerned little 7 year old voice, "Mommy are you..." sees that I am laughing and wiping away tears... says "Oh" turns and walks away.
For the next 36 hrs. every time I was heard cry/laughing The People would ask are you reading that lady's blog again? It was good... if you ever ever ever just sort of stub your toe you should forget the ice pack and get the Hyperbole and a Half... you'll forget you even HAVE a toe!
This is the only cure for the cold known to man... srsly.
Now, Go Get Your CRAFT ON!!!
