creative reuse

Last year right after they moved, I found the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse. This place is the junker/artist/junker/teacher's paradise! They have a plethora of recycled art supplies, FREE calendars, old books, old jewelry, old furniture, old ladies, and cool kids working there. I met Ashley and Iggy and a handful of other staffers while there learning how to make magic wands, fairy wings and Japanese style fans so that I can assist Iggy at an Earth Day event next weekend.

I came home with a handful of tiny bottles, little plastic disks, name brand stamp pads, super cool fibers AND the knowledge that they have a dress form, old funky toys, and more CD's than a girl could possibly use in a life time!

Here are some pix of my score:

Here are some pieces I crafted out of my past scores:

One tip - if they have it and you think you want it you'd better get it now... no guarantees they'll have that again next time...

One thing I should have gotten was some print maker's foil... cool gold stuff - I just didn't know how I'd use it or how to seal it so I passed, but I have a feeling I'll be kicking myself next time I go in search of it!

Click the link... check out their site... USE and REUSE!!!
